PAMCo 1 2019 Data

(Jan ’18 – Dec ’18)

Good Morning,

Today we release the latest cross-platform audience readership figures, showing that 93% of British adults consume magazine and newsbrand content across a month. The data covers the period January 2018 to December 2018 (incorporating November 2018 Comscore data).

Now PAMCo is entering its second year, for the first time the industry will be able to compare year on year readership data across ALL publisher platforms – phone, tablet, desktop and print (PAMCo 1 2019 vs PAMCo 1 2018).

Simon Redican, Chief Executive of PAMCo said: “We are delighted to release our 5th PAMCo dataset which firmly establishes PAMCo as the industry audience currency for published media. A further exciting development is the incorporation of PAMCo phone & tablet data into the TouchPoints planning system. For the first time, TouchPoints will be able demonstrate the total reach of published media across all available platforms. This will include the significant extra reach being measured across phone & tablet for newsbrand & magazine media and will impact on strategic planning decisions.”

All results are embargoed until 00:01 on the 20th March. This means that the data should not be publicly commented on until after the embargo has been lifted and data released to the wider market.

Change in minimum sample size for publication of print estimates

Following a review by the Technical Group, from this data release PAMCo has introduced changes to the minimum sample size required for publication of print readership estimates.

An unweighted AIR sample of 100 over a 12-month period is now required for publication of print estimates on a 12-month base. If this minimum of 100 unweighted sample is not reached after 12 months, estimates can still be released if the title achieves 100 unweighted sample after 24 months. In this case, the title will be subject to the 24-month base procedure.
