PAMCo 2 2019 Data

(Apr ’18 – Mar ’19)

Good Morning,

Today we release the latest cross-platform audience readership figures, showing that 93% of British adults consume magazine and newsbrand content across a month. The data covers the period April 2018 to March 2019 (incorporating March 2019 Comscore data).

Historically, the published media currency has been used in implementational planning tools to ensure efficient published media campaign construction and to inform investment decisions within the published media sector. However, industry currencies are increasingly used for strategic planning purposes allocating money between media sectors and we are really excited that PAMCo data can now be used in this way.

Simon Redican, Chief Executive of PAMCo said “We are delighted to release our 6th PAMCo dataset which firmly establishes PAMCo as the industry audience currency for published media. In addition to the incorporation of PAMCo phone & tablet data in the TouchPoints planning system, which shows that there is a significant increase in the amount of published media inventory in the market, I am delighted to let you know that PAMCo data is also now available for use in customer proprietary tools for strategic planning purposes.

If you would like further information on how PAMCo data can be incorporated into your own proprietary tools please contact any one of the PAMCo team.

All results are embargoed until 00:01 on the 19th June. This means that the data should not be publicly commented on until after the embargo has been lifted and data released to the wider market.

PAMCo Publication Rules updated

Following discussion at the PAMCo Technical Group meeting, it was agreed to amend the rule relating to the publication of digital entities that fall outside the +/- 5% tolerance with the Comscore currency targets. Historically, if a brand fell outside of this tolerance we used to suppress estimates, however, from this data release onwards we are consulting the publisher as to whether they wish the digital estimate to be published or suppressed. We have therefore updated our Publication Rules accordingly - please click here to view the full rules.

In order to help manage publisher expectations, the PAMCo Board has also agreed that PAMCo should inform publishers, in advance of a data release, if one of their digital entities will not be published. This communication is specific only to any digital entity that had estimates published in the previous release but doesn’t qualify for publication in the following release due to it not meeting Comscore minimum sample requirements.
